How to Bulk Upload Images to Adobe Stock with SFTP and CSV

Choose a 10, 20, 50, or 100-image batch in StockPhotoScout. If Adobe provides SFTP for your account, StockPhotoScout sends the finished files automatically; otherwise it keeps the completed images and CSV metadata ready for download. You review the batch and select Submit in Adobe Stock yourself.

Step 1: Connect your Adobe Stock account

Sign in to StockPhotoScout, open Adobe Stock account management, and add the account you want to use. You only need to connect it once; future batches can use the saved account.

Start with your Adobe Stock portfolio URL, then choose an upload method. An account with SFTP can receive images from StockPhotoScout automatically. If Adobe does not provide SFTP for the account, StockPhotoScout keeps the same completed image and CSV package ready for download.

Connect an account: Open Adobe Stock account management

Find your account details: Open Adobe Stock Contributor

  1. In Adobe Stock Contributor, open My Portfolio and copy the full contributor URL from the address bar. It should contain stock.adobe.com/contributor/.
  2. Paste the portfolio URL into StockPhotoScout, then choose automatic upload with SFTP when Adobe provides it, or keep the downloadable batch option for that account.
  3. For automatic upload, open the SFTP details on Adobe Stock's Upload page, copy the Username, and create a dedicated password with Generate password. This is not your Adobe sign-in password.
  4. Save the account. It will then be available when you create an Auto Upload batch.

Step 2: Choose the theme, image model, and batch size

Open Auto Upload, choose the Adobe Stock account that should receive the images, and set the theme source, image model, and number of files for this batch.

  1. Theme source: Curated Themes uses market demand to select ideas with stronger sales potential and automatically filters out ideas that are too similar to previous uploads. If you have saved your own ideas, choose Custom Themes and select the batch.
  2. Image model: Flux is faster and costs less; GPT Image 2 is designed for more detailed stock images.
  3. Batch size: choose 10, 20, 50, or 100 images. To process hundreds of images, create the next batch after the current one finishes.
  4. Review the account, theme source, model, and quantity, then select Generate and Upload Images.

Step 3: Let the batch finish in the background

After the task is created, it appears under In Progress. Starting, Queued, or In Progress all mean the task has been received, so do not create the same batch again. You can leave the page and return to the Completed tab later.

An SFTP task sends the images to Adobe Stock. Without SFTP, the completed images and CSV package remain available for download.

How do you import Adobe Stock titles and keywords with CSV?

StockPhotoScout prepares an English title, keywords, and category for each image, then writes the metadata into a CSV matched by filename. The two upload methods differ only in how the images reach Adobe Stock.

  1. Automatic upload with SFTP: the images are already in Adobe Stock. Open the completed task in StockPhotoScout and select Download Keywords to get the CSV.
  2. Manual upload: select Download images and keywords, unzip the package, and upload the images to Adobe Stock first. Do not rename the files before using the matching CSV.
  3. In Adobe Stock, open Uploaded Files, select New, and choose Upload CSV. Upload the CSV from StockPhotoScout, then select Refresh to view changes.
  4. After refreshing, confirm that each title, keyword list, and category matches the correct image.

Review the files in Adobe Stock and submit them

After the CSV import, open the metadata panel for each image and complete the final checks.

  1. Confirm that the images are in the intended Adobe Stock account.
  2. Confirm that the title, keywords, and category match what is visible in the image.
  3. Remove files with obvious distortions, broken text, brand marks, watermarks, or near-duplicate compositions.
  4. Select Created using generative AI tools. If the image contains fictional people or property, complete the People and Property are fictional setting as required.
  5. When the batch is ready, select Submit for review.

What if SFTP is unavailable or the connection fails?

  1. No SFTP option appears in Adobe Stock: choose manual upload when connecting the account. The task will still create the images, titles, keywords, and CSV.
  2. The SFTP connection fails: check the Username and the dedicated password created with Generate password. If you generate a new password, save the new one in StockPhotoScout as well.
  3. Titles and keywords do not appear after the CSV import: make sure the images were uploaded first, the filenames were not changed, and Refresh to view changes was selected.
  4. The task is still queued: wait for the current task to finish instead of creating the same batch again.
